The Spaces

The Sam

The Sam is the biggest and most flexible of our three theaters, able to embrace the full range of performing arts. Elegant and accessible, it is designed with the needs of today’s most innovative voices in the performing arts.

The Siggy

Our smallest theater is our underground space for ground-breaking performance. The Siggy’s configuration includes a raised stage with multiple entrances and also makes use of the building’s original 18th century arches. The Siggy’s intimate scale is perfect for young companies seeking to produce full-scale work without the burden of filling a large house.

The Pete

The Pete, named for seminal playwright A.R. Gurney, is a ground-breaking design. Unique in all of New York City, it is an open, light, and eccentric performance space. Versatile and welcoming in all its configurations, it intimately showcases readings and workshops as well as it does music, dance, and multidisciplinary performances. Its infinite adaptability entices artists who think “outside the box.” Finally, its adjacent outside patio space makes it perfect for social gatherings and meetings.
