The Flea Hops the Pond
Zora Howard’s HANG TIME at the Edinburg International Festival
Three years ago, The Flea premiered Pulitzer Prize finalist Zora Howard’s HANG TIME — an intricate, evocative reckoning with Black male interiority in America. Last year, the production reached a new milestone with our very first national tour. This year, in yet another historic chapter for The Flea, HANG TIME crosses an ocean.
HANG TIME will be presented at the Edinburgh International Festival as part of a curated series marking America's 250-year history — placing, as the festival puts it, this country's "extreme possibilities" in the spotlight, both its ideals of freedom and its hypocrisies. A stage this wide, a story this real; we couldn't imagine a better fit.
To mark the moment, The Flea is planning an intimate, all-access excursion alongside the production—behind-the-scenes access to HANG TIME, guided cultural outings, and time to sink into Scotland's remarkable history and landscape, all under the leadership of our Artistic Director Niegel Smith. A small gathering for a very big occasion.

We'd love to have you with us. xoxo 💋
