Celeste Tramontin

Celeste Tramontin has been a high school English teacher for twenty-six years and has taught at schools in Kentucky, Seattle, San Francisco, and Manhattan. She currently works at the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights where she teaches American Literature, Latin American Literature, and Literature of Modern Drama. Celeste also co-leads a two week symposium for Packer students called Theatre Matters in which students attend Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway plays, investigate the question of Why Theatre Matters, and study many of the elements that comprise the Matters of Theatre.

Celeste has been bringing student groups to The Flea for the last two years to attend plays, to tour the theater, and to learn from a dedicated group of actors, artists, and technical staff about their mission to “raise a joyful hell in a small space.”
